đŸ„± No wonder we would desperately prefer our baby to wake up twice during the night rather than 8, to nurse only every 3 hours intead of every 30 minutes, and to fall asleep alone.

👉 On the one hand, in today’s world everything is at the push of a button. We set everything up and go. It’s up to us. We have the control. Or so we think


🌍 And our environment tells us that babies can be set up and controlled, we just have to be clever and they will work like a washing machine. And our environment is also constantly telling us that babies need to be regulated beacuse it’s healthy for them. They need to be „programmed” and that’s all. You have to be careful not to mess up their system by not controlling when and how. And of course there are babies who adapt without easily so we think this is what they need. The baby next door is sleeping through the night and can be put down for day naps, too. You must be doing something wrong! Or there is something wrong with your baby.

👉 And of course we are pretty exhausted. We work (yes, WORK!) seven days a week, 24 hours a day. With no days off. For years. 😭 Of course we wish she would get up only twice and sleep in her crib for 2 hours during the day!

🔧 But baby is not an automatic washing machine.
📖 There is no instruction or manual to get the desired result.

⚙ It cannot be set precisely.

📋 There is no recipe that works for every family.

BUT! The good news is, you can’t make a mistake with her either! Once you accept and acknowledge this, it is much easier to create good solutions for your life as there are certain factors that CAN affect how often she wakes up, how much she sleeps. It is good to see things clearly and tick them off your list, not to hinder optimal sleep for you and your baby (in a consultation for example).

Things such as:

➡ daily schedule

➡ sleeping arrangements

➡ sleeping conditions

đŸȘ„ So there is no magic bullet and no đŸ‘¶ two babies are the same. What works for your neighbour might not be a good solution for your family.
